Summary

Related to RUN-3710

Sends the access that zisi emits for functions and the Netlify Server in the deploy payload (functions_config[name].access and server.access), unchanged, whether the CLI reads the build manifests or zips the functions itself.

Depends on netlify/build#7315. For now, @netlify/build and @netlify/zip-it-and-ship-it are pinned to that PR's pkg.pr.new preview (commit b4dbc5a), so CI passes and staging can use access before the release. Replace both with the release before this merges: plain netlify deploy builds with the zisi that @netlify/build pins.

To try it on a staging site: NETLIFY_API_URL=https://api-staging.netlify.com npx https://pkg.pr.new/netlify-cli@10259 deploy

Tests: new hash-fns tests for a function and a server with access.

Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Deployment processing now carries access settings for servers and functions. Function deployments retain public-access configuration and public routes, while server deployments retain their access settings. These details are included when deployment information is prepared, so the configured access behavior is represented consistently across both server and function deployments.

Function and server deploy payloads now include access metadata from their respective bundle or manifest data. Tests cover function access with public: true and public_routes, and server access with public routes. The package declarations for @netlify/build and @netlify/zip-it-and-ship-it now use a preview URL for commit 1fefeea.

Merge Risk: Moderate · up to b7d2a

The deploy payload change itself looks sound with the preview dependencies. Before merging or releasing, replace the preview URLs with published npm versions that include the access changes, otherwise fresh installs of the CLI may eventually break.

Add direct-zip coverage for function access.

Both access tests use a manifest, so they cannot detect zipFunctions dropping access. With the compatible bundler, add a direct-zip test using a v2 function configured with path and access: 'public'. Assert that fnConfig.hello.access is { public: true }.

Add coverage for direct server bundling.

The manifest test does not exercise zipServer. With a compatible bundler, add a test whose server entry exports config = { access: { '/health': 'public' } } and assert the returned server.access.

- Line 37: Update the @netlify/zip-it-and-ship-it dependency and lockfile to a
version whose result types declare access, so the access field in the
ServerResult type usage typechecks and the build succeeds; preserve the existing
access typing.
- Line 178: Update the dependency versions for @netlify/build and the root
@netlify/zip-it-and-ship-it to releases that preserve in-source function access
in both function results and build manifests, so fresh-manifest and
direct-bundling deploys retain access in functions_config. Keep the existing
access: func.access mapping intact.

Update both bundler dependencies to preserve function access.

The locked bundler drops in-source function access. Deploys therefore omit it from functions_config when they use either a fresh build manifest or direct bundling. Update @netlify/build and the root @netlify/zip-it-and-ship-it dependency to versions that preserve access in function results and manifests.

Review comment at @src/utils/deploy/hash-fns.ts at line 178:
Update the dependency versions for @netlify/build and the root
@netlify/zip-it-and-ship-it to releases that preserve in-source function access
in both function results and build manifests, so fresh-manifest and
direct-bundling deploys retain access in functions_config. Keep the existing
access: func.access mapping intact.

Replace the preview URLs before publishing.

pkg.pr.new removes old preview packages, including packages older than six months. (blog.stackblitz.com) Once removed, fresh installations of any CLI release that contains these URLs will fail. Use published npm versions that include the access changes, and update the lockfile.
