The BookBot Project

simple as it sounds. It takes books in ".txt" format file and counts: total words in the book and total of letters in the book.

How it works?

You need need to download and put the book in the bookbot-project/books/ folder.

  1. First you enter the input, which is the name of the book in ".txt" format file. If you dont put the correct input it outputs an error message explaining how to use the program.
  2. In simple words the program checks the filepath and prove if the book is in the folder of books
  3. The program gets the book content (text) and sends it to the main function
  4. There are 2 files: main.py and stats.py. The main.py import some functions of stats.py like "accept_book_text, get_characters_dict, characters_dict_to_sorted_list"
  5. In the stats.py are too many fundamental functions for calculate to process some things.
  6. Finally the main.py program make a full report in a sorted list of characters in the book, the book total's word count and a good looking visual output.
