Description

The required Dependency vulnerabilities (pip-audit) check fails on every PR, including #276, because new advisories were published for four locked packages:

Package From To Advisories
pillow 12.3.0 13.0.0 34
certifi 2026.6.17 2026.10.19 1
opentelemetry-api (via the mcp extra) 1.44.0 1.45.1 1
virtualenv (dev only) 21.14.7 21.14.12 1

The existing constraints in pyproject.toml already allow these versions, so only poetry.lock changes. requirements.txt doesn't pin any of them.

Type of Change

  • Bug Fix

Testing

  • pip-audit 2.10.1 on the lock exported the way CI does it (poetry export --with test,dev --extras mcp): no known vulnerabilities.
  • poetry run pytest -m "not slow": 2896 passed, 10 deselected. This covers Pillow 13, which scales the MCP preview images.
  • tests/test_mcp_service.py and tests/test_mcp_server.py against opentelemetry-api 1.45.1: 97 passed.

pip-audit started failing on every pull request after new advisories
for locked packages:

- pillow 12.3.0 -> 13.0.0 (34 advisories)
- certifi 2026.6.17 -> 2026.10.19 (1)
- opentelemetry-api 1.44.0 -> 1.45.1 (1, via the mcp extra)
- virtualenv 21.14.7 -> 21.14.12 (1, dev only)

The existing constraints already allow these versions, so only
poetry.lock changes. pip-audit on the exported lock now reports no
known vulnerabilities.
