Linking between articles
Write an article's name in double square brackets to link to it. This works in wiki articles and in forum posts.
| You write | You get |
|---|---|
Installation |
a link to the article Installation, showing Installation |
how to install |
a link to the same article, showing how to install |
The name is the article's name as it appears in its address, /wiki/<article name>. It can't contain [, ], |, <, >, ", #, ?, %, / or \.
A link to an article that doesn't exist yet is shown in red, with a tooltip saying so. Following it opens the editor, so you can create the article from the link. Once the article exists, the link turns into a normal link everywhere.
The Wiki link button in the editor toolbar, after the font-size menu, inserts and around the selected text, or at the cursor. It's in the wiki's own editor and in the forum's posting editor.
Below each article, What links here lists the other articles whose current version links to it. Older versions and unapproved edits don't count, so the list always matches what readers see.
Inside a [code] block the brackets stay plain text, so you can show the syntax itself.
Articles and posts written before this feature existed get their links the next time they are edited. To convert them all at once, run phpBB's reparser from the board's folder:
php bin/phpbbcli.php reparser:reparse phpbbmodders_wiki_article
php bin/phpbbcli.php reparser:reparse post_textThe first converts wiki articles, the second forum posts.
