Title:

Scanopy v0.15.6 is live! This release is all about making authentication and Docker credential management more intuitive, plus general usability touches and important bug fixes for safer topology and org management.

Improvements

  • Docker credential flow overhaul:
    • Docker socket proxy messages for local targets are now much clearer, and all setup info is consolidated into the credential wizard. You’ll see more actionable guidance when scanning Docker hosts from the server (#4022fee9, #24fd7b1b, #af0c571f).
  • Authentication flow rework:
    • Clearer OIDC/callback errors, login method selector with last-used provider indication, and improved tracking of your last login make it more straightforward to sign in how you want (#445d18fb).
  • Polished UX:
    • Improved feedback for scan tests, toast messages, navigation, and better text wrapping for long messages—all to keep the UI sharp and frustration-free (#84435c70, #5f8b25cf).

Bug Fixes

  • Prevent “last topology” loss:
    • Robust protections so you can’t accidentally delete your final topology; the delete button is smartly disabled when deletion would orphan the project (#02c66841, #4b386db1, #13a1a862).
  • Discovery and onboarding flow fixes:
    • Resolved edge-case bugs that could stall first scans or make navigating onboarding inconsistent (#762ec13c).
  • Organization deletion finally fixed:
    • You can reliably remove orgs again with this patch (#a87fd267).

Subject: Easier authentication and Docker setup in Scanopy

We've made Scanopy easier and more intuitive with improved credential handling and reminders, authentication clarity, and usability fixes. Here’s how this release helps streamline your network mapping workflows:

  • Simpler Docker scan setup: Consolidated proxy instructions in the credential wizard reduce confusion and let you start local Docker scans faster.
  • Clearer sign-in experience: New login method selector and better error messages mean fewer authentication hiccups, especially with OIDC providers.
  • Safer topology management: Accidental deletion of your last topology is prevented, ensuring your maps always stay protected.
  • Smoother onboarding: Discovery flows and navigation after first setup are now more reliable, minimizing stalls and missteps.
  • Visual feedback improvements: Enhanced test results, toast messages, and layout tweaks make in-app actions feel more responsive and readable.
