[bug]: OpenCode 2 TUI: /quota flashes in chat, and opens a new session from Home #296

Closed

Description

@slkiser

In v5.0.0 on OpenCode 2 (TUI), two small quirks come from OpenCode 2.0.16 itself:

  1. Brief flash: with tuiCommandDisplay: "dialog" (the default), /quota and the other quota slash commands flash the report in the chat for a moment before the popup opens and the chat copy is removed.
  2. Home opens a new session: running /quota from the Home screen creates a new empty session. Workaround: use Ctrl+P → OpenCode Quota on Home.

Why: quota slash commands must be server commands so they work on Web and Desktop. OpenCode 2 has no way for a TUI plugin to take over a slash command with the same name. Its autocomplete lists plugin and server commands without removing duplicates, and server commands always run in a session.

What would fix it upstream: the TUI prefers a TUI plugin's slash command when a server command has the same name (packages/tui/src/component/prompt/autocomplete.tsx). Related: anomalyco/opencode#28292, anomalyco/opencode#43132.

    Fixed in v5.0.0 (try 5.0.0-beta.1): the TUI now opens quota commands itself, so they no longer flash in the chat or open a new session from Home.
