Changes

  • Store artist and track names: Saves entries as Artist - Track instead of raw boolean true.
  • Trashed songs list in Settings: Displays all blacklisted tracks directly inside the Settings page.
  • Real-time search: Live search bar that filters the trashed songs instantly as you type.
  • Individual Remove button: Dedicated "Remove" button for each track to restore items individually without clearing all data.
  • Scroll control & layout stability: Shows up to 5 items before scrolling, with scrollbarGutter: "stable" to prevent layout jumps.
  • Empty state handling: Displays feedback messages when the trashbin is empty or when no search results match.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • The trash-bin settings page now displays trashed songs and artists with readable names and item-type labels.
    • Search the list by name or URI, and remove individual entries directly from the list.
    • The list scrolls when it exceeds its display area and shows clear messages when it’s empty or no items match your search.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The trashbin module now normalizes stored lists, caches display names for trashed songs and artists, and provides a searchable settings list with per-entry removal controls.

Changes

Trashbin list and display names

Layer / File(s) Summary
Trash list helpers and tests
modules/trashbin/logic.ts, modules/trashbin/logic.test.mts
New helpers normalize lists, format track labels, order songs and artists, and filter entries by label or URI. Tests cover the helper behavior. toggleEntry uses the TrashList alias without changing its implementation.
Name cache and trash-list updates
modules/trashbin/mod.tsx
Stored and imported lists are normalized. The module records or looks up names when entries are added, limits concurrent lookups to four workers, and removes cached names for entries no longer in either list.
Searchable settings list
modules/trashbin/mod.tsx, modules/trashbin/index.scss, modules/trashbin/metadata.json
The settings section displays ordered entries with type labels and removal controls. It shows empty and no-match states. The list is limited to 360px in height and scrolls vertically. The module version changes to 0.3.0.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Change: Feature

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 32bea

The settings list has a few bounded usability issues: rows may shift when scrolling begins, searching a named item by URI fails, and an imported item can show an outdated name. These warrant fixes or owner acceptance but do not block merging.

Reserve the scrollbar gutter before overflow.

When the list exceeds 360px, overflow-y: auto can reduce the available row width on systems with non-overlay scrollbars. Add scrollbar-gutter: stable to prevent that layout shift.

Search the URI even when an entry has a cached name.

When labelOf(uri) returns a name, this filter no longer checks uri. A user who pastes a known URI into the search field cannot find that entry. Match the query against both the label and the URI, and add a named-entry URI test.

Invalidate pending name lookups when importing a replacement list.

If an imported file moves a URI from songs to artists or from artists to songs, a lookup started before the import can complete with the old kind. resolveNames() checks only whether the URI exists in either list, so it stores the old kind's label in trashNames. The settings list can then show and search the wrong name.

Clear the cache and invalidate pending lookups when the import replaces both lists.
