Just confirming that populating these fields does not have any effect in the GitHub org (theupdaframework) or projects (like theupdaframework/python-tuf) themselves: this is just a mechanism to inform CNCF of project status, and not configuration-as-code (that could affect e.g. GitHub settings) for the project. Correct?

Correct, this will affect access to Service desk and the project mailing list at the moment. No project repo controles.
