Hard disk drive arm scheduling algorithms: SCAN (Elevator algorithm) and head movement optimization.
An interactive elevator system simulator implemented in modern C++
3D city where nothing is hidden. About eighty residents live a full, continuous day: home, school, work, coffee, lunch, shops, dinner, TV and sleep. They get around by elevator, a looping metro, buses and taxis, under real traffic lights. Easter eggs included. Three.js and React, in the browser. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic.
Write an elevator dispatch policy in JavaScript, run it on seeded traffic in an animated building, and flip to a disk view showing that FCFS, SSTF, SCAN and LOOK are disk-scheduling algorithms, with wait, starvation and energy metrics. Built with Claude Code.
