The hero flow canvas made the home page janky: a requestAnimationFrame loop drawing up to 90 particles per frame, each with ctx.shadowBlur (an expensive per-particle blur) plus a freshly created radial gradient every frame.

  • Removes the canvas and its script entirely — runtime cost returns to the original baseline (only the log's setInterval).
  • The ambient glow is now a single .hero::before layer animating transform only, so it stays on the compositor thread and costs effectively nothing.
  • The dark palette and gradient headline are pure CSS and are kept.
  • Applied to all 10 home pages; prefers-reduced-motion disables the drift. check_site clean (0 problems); docs/ rebuilt.

Site-only, no version bump, no tag.

The canvas ran a requestAnimationFrame loop drawing up to 90 particles, each
with ctx.shadowBlur (a per-particle blur) and a fresh radial gradient every
frame — enough to make the home page janky. Drop the canvas and its script
entirely; the ambient glow is now a single .hero::before layer that animates
transform only, so it stays on the compositor and costs effectively nothing.
Runtime cost is back to the original (just the log's setInterval). The dark
palette and the gradient headline are pure CSS and are kept. Applied to all
ten home pages; reduced motion disables the drift.

Restores every home page (source and built docs) and the sitemap to their
state at 8a54361 — the dark palette, gradient headline and hero animation
(PRs #25 and #26) are removed entirely. The home returns to the original
light/adaptive design, which is the guaranteed-fast baseline. Site-only, no
version bump. The tree is now identical to 8a54361.
