fix(server): stop /healthz saying ok while every job hangs at running - #428
Conversation
A job past 300 s plus 5 times its audio counts in queue.stalled, is logged once, and makes /healthz answer 503 with ok:false. A server that sends jobs to remotes passes over one reporting a stalled job. models_ready keeps its meaning and no job is killed. Fixes #407.

…past it A job logged at the base budget, then given a longer one once its audio's length is known, was forgotten and logged again on the next hang. The mark now goes only when the job stops running.
Closes #407.
The problem
A server can sit with every job stuck at
runningwhile/healthzsaysok: true. In #407 a disk walker starved the Parakeet model load on a Mac mini, so each new job hung at stagetranscribeindefinitely. Nothing showed it./healthzanswered 200, no log line appeared afterjob.created, and a server that forwards jobs to remotes kept sending work to the stuck one.The fix
The queue now counts stalled jobs. A running job is stalled once it has run more than 300 s plus 5 times its audio length. The audio length is used once it is known (the base alone while the file decodes).
queue.stalledis new in/healthzandGET /v1/server./healthzanswers 503 withok: falsewhile it is above 0, and goes back to 200 when the job ends.models_readykeeps its meaning. It says whether the models are ready, not what the jobs are doing. Changing it would make a healthy server whose idle Worker let go of its model read as not ready.job.stalled <id> key <key> model <model> running 301 s on 8 s of audio, stage transcribe. The idle and retention timers cannot write it because neither wakes while a Worker is busy, so a 30 s unref'd interval does it.close()clears the interval.running_at, on the service's own clock. Two cases start it later:running, and takes its audio length from the remote'sprogress.total_s. Time spent waiting in the remote's queue does not count.queue.stalled, andpickpasses over a remote that reports one. A job this server can run then runs here, and one only a remote can run waits. The log saysremote.stalledonce, thenremote.upwhen the remote recovers. That transition also re-routes the queue. For #407's case (8 s clips) the flag fires 340 s into the run.
Docs: SV-P4 and SV-Q4 in
docs/ux/SERVER.md, a new SV-X9 for the remote rule, the queue section ofdocs/server-hardware.md, and the regenerateddocs/api/openapi.json. No CHANGELOG line, because the release PR writes those sections.Evidence
