Windows downloads, builds and updates now default to WebView2. A separate Electron compatibility installer embeds Chromium and the self-contained Host, uses native NSIS pages and stays on its own update channel. Both packages replace the same installation with staging, ownership manifests and rollback. Full/Online names remain WebView2 aliases; the primary installer limit stays at 40,000,000 bytes.
Both shells share the renderer, OSD presentation and business RPC. WebView2 gains native OSD, visible browser recovery and shell identity. Named FPS subscriptions safely retry lost responses, serialize lifecycle changes and preserve anonymous clients. Focus styling, RTL, settings scroll, diagnostic isolation, updater integrity and installation recovery are corrected. Diagnostic sessions explain unavailable hardware instead of silently hiding functionality.
Integrates local master, release/v6.1.3, remote master and dependency PR #206 while retaining Apps/Libraries/Platforms/Tests. Ten Lenovo business MTMs gain safe basic-mode identity coverage, with five gaming-series mappings corrected. macOS builds, packages and CI are paused with source retained; Windows and experimental Linux remain active. Version 6.1.4 is an unreleased candidate; no tag or Release is created.
Validation of source 14f9250:
CI Tests, Footprint, Build and installation scenarios, CodeQL. All four workflows completed successfully for the matching source commit. The installer report records 18 passed steps, Complete=true, ScenarioComplete=true and RecoveryFailures=[]. It covers clean install, same-channel reinstall, both shell replacements, registration-failure rollback, running-window uninstall, data retention and simulated legacy-layout migration; the legacy source is the current compatibility candidate, not a historical original installer.
Missing-Runtime installation, interactive UAC/Cancel, native tray/file-dialog input, physical DPI, native drag/placement/click-through and new machine controls remain manual observations. The user's original installation-failure popup did not reproduce in isolated diagnostics; its cause is not established. Historical tags and untracked files are preserved. Docs/TEST_DIAGNOSTICS.md retains checkpoint evidence and identifies the current package, CI and UI reports separately.
