🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick winReject display values that the locked renderer cannot represent.
The locked engine maps
flow-root,list-item,inline, andinline-blocktokDisplayBlock. It mapsinline-flexandinline-gridto block-level flex and grid states. The normal WPT manifest includesfloats-placement-005.html, which usesdisplay: flow-rootfor float placement. The adapter accepts this test, so the run can report an incorrect rendering instead of skipping it.Suggested fix

The engine parses only hex, rgb() and transparent colors, so the rig rewrites named colors in color-bearing properties. border-image and border-image-source carry gradient color stops as well. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Upstream WPT pins no monospace font, so documents asking for the generic monospace family fell back to Gentium and broke lines that tests size in ch. Such documents now also load DejaVu Sans Mono 2.35, unmodified with its Bitstream Vera license, from the rig's own test/wpt/fonts directory. The file is pinned by SHA-256 like the upstream fixtures. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…T rig The adapter skipped every document with a display value other than block, flex, grid or none. It now also passes flow-root, list-item, inline-flex and inline-grid to the engine, which opens 17 reftests. Whatever the engine does not implement for these values shows up as a failure instead of being hidden as a skip. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The adapter now passes inline and inline-block to the engine as well, which opens 77 more reftests. The adapter test keeps checking that an unsupported display value is skipped, now with display: table. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The adapter now passes strong, aside and article, and the elements HTML does not define that WPT uses as containers (flexbox, grid, container, item). The bridge registers the matching UA rules below author styles: display: block for aside and article, bold for strong, and display: inline for the unknown elements, as HTMLUnknownElement is inline unless styled. This opens 63 more reftests. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The engine now rasterizes the horizontal ellipsis in runtime fonts, so the adapter accepts it alongside ASCII and the degree sign. This opens 95 line-clamp reftests whose references spell the block ellipsis out. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
audio_buffer_runtime.cpp defines AudioBuffer methods that the compiler declares in an app's generated gea_runtime.h. The rig compiles no app, so the header was missing and the build failed with both the installed and the local core packages. The rig calls none of these methods. The file is now skipped unless GEA_COMPILER_RUNTIME points at a generated runtime. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
With wpt:run --force, each adapter guard that would skip a test records its reason instead, and the construct is transported as-is. A construct that cannot be transported is dropped: an unloadable font or stylesheet, an at-rule, an attribute, or a non-rendering element (script, style, meta, ...). Each result lists its reasons in `forced`. The report adds `forcedSummary`, the statuses of the results that ran past a guard, and the HTML report marks each forced result. A forced result is not conformance evidence, since test and reference can share the defect. Without --force, the adapter behaves as before. On css-fix with the line-clamp fixes, all 1,100 tests: 865 PASS and 235 FAIL; 180 of the PASS and 165 of the FAIL are forced. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Ahem's ascent is 0.8em, so at sizes that are not multiples of 5px its square glyphs start between pixel rows. At 16px the antialiased glyph covered 80% of its top row and 20% of the row below its line box: a red span beneath showed through and an adjacent border was tinted, which failed the four static-position/htb-* reftests by 2,400 pixels each. Browser reftest harnesses draw Ahem without antialiasing (Gecko's gfx.font_rendering.ahem_antialias_none). The bridge now returns false from generated::runtimeTtfFontAntialiased for the Ahem family; the engine still owns all metrics and coverage and thresholds it at 50% once per glyph. Other fonts keep antialiasing, including the Gentium Plus default, whose gasp table also asks for no grayscale at 9-16ppem. The README records this and the three shared-engine corrections that came with it (core 79cf109): the next-line static position in a right-to-left block, no text-align inside a one-line inline box, and the content area of a contentless inline box. All 1,100 tests with --force: 869 -> 874 PASS, 231 -> 226 FAIL, nothing went from PASS to FAIL. Pixel counts drop in 14 failing vertical writing-mode cases and two forced line-clamp cases (seams removed); their statuses do not change. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Core now lays out vertical-lr and vertical-rl block containers with inline content as vertical flows, draws their text as turned columns and maps flow-relative properties per element. The README section lists that and the horizontal corrections the same tests needed. Those are the static position under a relatively positioned inline, split-inline containing blocks, hanging trailing spaces, words that continue across inline items, start/end alignment by the block's direction, orthogonal inline-block baselines, absolute vertical boxes with both insets and the first-line baseline of wrapping bitmap-font text. All 1,100 tests with --force: 874 -> 900 PASS, 226 -> 200 FAIL, nothing went from PASS to FAIL. All 24 vertical css-position tests pass, as do align-self-static-position-004 and margin-trim flex-column-orthogonal-item. No rig code changed. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The adapter rewrites url() in background and background-image to the pinned image's path from the WPT root. It also accepts <img src> and flags=image metadata. run.mjs sends the bytes of every pinned PNG, JPEG or GIF with the document; an image the importer could not fetch stays a failed load. bridge.cpp serves the images through the weak gea_embedded_asset_lookup, the table an app's embedded assets use. Other url() values and other image formats stay unsupported. The complete forced run moves from 900 PASS, 200 FAIL to 920 PASS, 180 FAIL. Seven grid-abspos-staticpos-*-img-* tests had passed forced only because the adapter dropped every image; they now render their images and pass unforced. Two forced tests that passed for the same reason now fail: inline-svg-100-percent-in-body still drops its SVG, and the reference of background-image-cover-zoomed-1 relies on a body > div rule the rig does not transport. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The adapter accepts table, caption, thead, tbody, tfoot, tr, td, th, col and colgroup, and the table and table-* display values except inline-table. The bridge registers HTML's table rendering as UA rules: border-spacing: 2px, cell padding of 1px with middle alignment, and bold centered th. Table attributes stay unsupported. The complete forced run moves from 920 PASS, 180 FAIL to 940 PASS, 160 FAIL with no regressions. All 16 position-relative table tests pass, as do s-11-1-1b-007, floated-table-wider-than-specified, background-multiple-layers-table-cell and, forced, background-color-animation-with-table4. clip-text-descendants now passes unforced. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>

<b>is deliberately not transported. With its UA bold rule, one glyph's coverage changed (400 px) invlr-ltr-rtl-in-multicolsandvrl-ltr-rtl-in-multicols, which do not use<b>; layout was identical. I did not find the cause. Each test runs in its own WASM instance, so it is not state carried over from an earlier test.main, most of the newly transported tests fail. Merge together with the engine PR.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
