Add SoftMimicGen for deformable data generation - #85
Extend data generation to deformable reference objects. SoftMimicGen selects source demonstrations using nodal state and adapts end-effector trajectories through thin-plate-spline registration.
Register SoftMimicGen and expose it through the generation CLI.
Add nodal-state annotations, source-pool support, and deformable trajectory transforms.
Add shared reset-settling support and unit tests for the algorithm, transforms, data handling, and interfaces.
Stack layer 1/3: Core -> PhysX -> Newton. Environment examples are added by the dependent PRs.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added SoftMimicGen support for generating demonstrations in one- and two-arm tasks involving deformable objects.
Added capture and use of deformable-object nodal data to transform demonstrations and select source demonstrations by registration similarity.
Added configurable reset-settling steps, allowing an environment to settle while other environments continue operating.
Added SoftMimicGen as an option for dataset generation.
Documentation
Expanded citation guidance to include SoftMimicGen.
The pull request adds SoftMimicGen for deformable-object tasks, captures nodal positions, and uses TPS registration for source selection and EEF-pose transformation. It also adds configurable environment reset settling, completion futures, and settled initial-state recording.

Datastream returns environment-relative deformable-object nodes. Demo annotations and episode data store optional nodal positions. Task parameters and tests cover soft-object ingestion and pose-name mapping.

TPS utilities fit, evaluate, and differentiate 3D transforms and compute registration cost. Deformable EEF poses use nodal registration. Registration-cost selection ranks source demos by nodal cost and skips invalid candidates.
SoftMimicGen validates rigid and deformable reference compatibility and transforms source EEF poses through the applicable path. DataGenerator passes nodal data through selection and transformation. The package, CLI, and citation guidance expose the algorithm.
Reset requests carry completion futures. When settling steps are configured, the environment loop applies configured idle actions or zeros to resetting environments while other environments continue. It records settled initial state and completes each request. The policy defaults settling steps to zero.

Explanation
The title "Add SoftMimicGen for deformable data generation" matches the main change. The changeset adds the SoftMimicGen algorithm, its CLI registration, its selection strategy, and its TPS-based deformable transforms. The title is short, specific, and does not use vague terms.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description follows the template. It has a Summary section with a short title, and a Detailed description section that gives the reason for the change, the list of changes, and the stacking context. The summary line is 39 characters, within the 50-character limit. The description does not state the impact of the change in explicit terms, and it does not mention any testing or verification results beyond the unit test list. These gaps are minor because the template's impact item is only partly covered by the stack note and the feature list.
