quest: plan studio autosave, scene editing, broadcast sync, Wayland sources - #6839
Plans four follow-ups from the studio app (#6797).
Changes
All four new quests are in quest/m3/studio, listed after the macOS/Windows run.
autosave.md [S]: every edit is written to the scene file shortly after it happens, with no save step or quit prompt.
scene-editing.md [M]: scenes can be renamed and reordered. Resizing the canvas while live publishes a new rendition under a new track name.
broadcast-sync.md [M]: subscribed broadcasts and guests play audio and video on the publisher's timestamps, using moq play's --delay auto timing lifted into a shared library.
wayland-sources.md [M]: portal display and window sources that reopen without the picker. The restore token is kept in per-machine state, never in the scene file. Requires quest/m2/capture-linux.md.
quest/m2/capture-linux.md: its open question is settled: the portal restore token becomes persistable (API plus CLI).
Decisions (2026-10-26, maintainer)
Wayland screen sources: settle capture-linux's open question and split the work?
✅ Persist token; studio quest (Recommended)
Fold all into capture-linux
X11 only
Unsaved changes: how should the studio handle them?
✅ Autosave (Recommended)
Prompt on quit
Scene editing: what happens to a live broadcast when the canvas is resized?
✅ New rendition via catalog (Recommended)
Only while offline
Per-source A/V sync: which sources does it cover?
✅ Broadcast sources (Recommended)
All sources
Where should a Wayland source's portal restore token be stored?
✅ Per-machine state (Recommended)
In the scene file
How much delay should a broadcast source's A/V sync add?

Adds four studio quests from the studio app's follow-ups, and settles
capture-linux's open question: the portal restore token becomes
persistable.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
No actionable bugs found in these planning changes. The direction is coherent: reuse shared playback timing rather than duplicate an estimator, keep portal restore tokens out of portable scene files, and give resized renditions new track names. Atomic autosave with visible failures also fits the stated UX. These are independently scoped follow-ups; no runtime API or wire behavior changes here.
Verification: static review of the six-file diff against the studio, capture, audio-jitter, and multi-canvas documentation. No implementation, builds, or tests were exercised.

Walkthrough
The changes update the Linux capture plan and Studio quest index. They add plans for Studio autosave, scene editing, broadcast synchronization, and persistent Wayland display and window sources.
Priority: Low
Merge Risk: Low · up to 4143a
This PR only adds planning documents, so nothing changes at runtime. Before the plans are implemented, the maintainers should tighten three points: the autosave durability wording, how autosave creates the first scene file, and which delay governs video in broadcast sync.

Review comments at @quest/m3/studio/autosave.md:
- Line 15: Define how autosave creates a missing scene file at the path supplied
by the show.toml startup argument before updating the guide, so the plan no
longer relies on a first-save step.
- Around line 11-13: Update the autosave Goal and Plan to define the durability
contract consistently: either narrow the “never loses an edit” claim to
acknowledge that edits may be lost if the process crashes during the debounce
window, or change the write strategy so edits are persisted before that window
can expose them to crash loss.
Review comments at @quest/m3/studio/broadcast-sync.md:
- Around line 16-19: Update the Delay bullet so the broadcast audio track sets
one shared delay, video waits on that delay without maintaining a separate
estimate, and the UI shows the shared delay for each source.

No actionable bugs found in the two-file update since my previous review. The plan now addresses CodeRabbit's debounce durability, first-file creation, and shared A/V timing findings. Reusing the audio-led moq play clock, with its video-only delay when audio is absent, remains simpler than adding independent timing algorithms.
Verification: static comparison against 4143aef and inspection of the existing playback timing and arguments. Planning changes only; no builds or tests run.
Merge summary: CodeRabbit's three findings are fixed in 786dfbe. The autosave Goal now names the debounce-window crash loss. A missing scene path is created by the first autosave. In broadcast sync, video follows the audio-derived delay as moq play does, and a broadcast with no audio keeps video's own short delay. Codex (thumbs-up) and the OpenAI review both cleared the final head, and quest check passes against main. The recorded maintainer decisions are unchanged.
