fix(net): keep DYNAMIC_GROUPS through an opted-out draft-22 resume - #7383
On draft 22, a lingering copy's resumed SUBSCRIBE sends INCLUDE_PROPERTIES 0, so its SUBSCRIBE_OK has an empty properties block. The subscriber kept that empty block as held_properties, which is what a pause holds. Once that subscription paused as a TRACKS listing's entry (through PUBLISH_SKIPPED), the REQUEST_UPDATE resuming it filtered out NEW_GROUP_REQUEST (held.properties.dynamic_groups was false), even though the track declared DYNAMIC_GROUPS.
The active subscription's own updates were never affected: they read DYNAMIC_GROUPS from the copy's track::Info, which the first answer set.
Approach
In rs/moq-net/src/ietf/subscriber.rs:
Idle keeps the full ietf::Properties its first answer declared, instead of only timescale.
When a resumed SUBSCRIBE opted out (!properties_wanted on draft 22, with no held subscription), the copy's properties replace the answer's. They feed the track info, the timescale, and what a pause holds. This replaces the old timescale-only fallback, so there is one rule instead of two.
properties_wanted is lifted into a local, so the accept path can tell whether the answer opted out.
Impact
Public API: none.
Wire: a draft-22 REQUEST_UPDATE that resumes such a paused subscription now carries NEW_GROUP_REQUEST again. Draft 18 can't opt out, so it is unchanged.
Choices made without asking
Carry rather than keep asking. The quest offered both. Carrying keeps the opt-out's saving and also fixes any other property a pause holds, not just DYNAMIC_GROUPS.
Overlap with moq-dev/moq#7085. That PR edits the same hunks: it asks for properties when the copy is timed, and drops the timescale fallback. Whichever PR lands second resolves the conflict. With this PR's rule, properties_wanted for a resume becomes idle.properties.timescale.is_some(). An answer the copy asked for is used as is, and only an opted-out one falls back to the copy's properties. This matches fix(net): honor the Track Properties opt-out on IETF SUBSCRIBE #7085's "no fallback when asked" rule.
Tests
New ietf::subscriber::tracks::tests::a_paused_resume_that_opted_out_keeps_dynamic_groups (draft 22). A copy learns DYNAMIC_GROUPS, and a join asks for group 6. The copy lingers, then resumes with an opted-out SUBSCRIBE and gets an empty answer. A PUBLISH_SKIPPED makes it the listing entry, so it pauses. The resuming REQUEST_UPDATE must still carry new_group = Some(6). It runs on the simulated clock and is deterministic.
Without the fix (main's fallback restored locally), the test fails: the pause forgot DYNAMIC_GROUPS, None vs Some(6).
Checks
just check: passed (through quest gate).
cargo test -p moq-net --all-features: passed (2681 lib, 497 integration, plus the smaller suites).
quest check: passed.
Review
mechanical fix by codex / Codex: Merged base, preserved both subscriber property intents, and followed FETCH and clock API changes; focused test blocked by uncached offline uniffi dependency. (head 5209d19)
mechanical fix by codex / Codex: Merged base and followed its is_draft22 to is_draft20 helper rename; predicate unchanged. (head a365e8a)
Reviewer: Codex (quest review, built from origin/main's flake.nix pin 1ef2ca7), gpt-6.1-sol, medium effort.
A resumed SUBSCRIBE of a lingering copy opts out of Track Properties on
draft 22, so its SUBSCRIBE_OK carries none. That empty block became the
properties a pause holds, so once the subscription paused as a TRACKS
listing's entry, the REQUEST_UPDATE resuming it dropped
NEW_GROUP_REQUEST even though the track declared DYNAMIC_GROUPS.
The idle copy now keeps the properties its first answer declared, not
just the timescale, and an opted-out answer takes them in its place.

fix(net): keep DYNAMIC_GROUPS through an opted-out draft-22 resume

No actionable findings in this change. Retaining the full properties in Idle and the paused upstream preserves DYNAMIC_GROUPS through the opted-out SUBSCRIBE and subsequent REQUEST_UPDATE. The fallback is limited to draft-22-style opt-out resumes without a held subscription; held updates retain their own properties, and initial/older-draft answers remain authoritative. The new regression follows the wire-level pause/resume sequence and checks that NEW_GROUP_REQUEST survives.
Static GitHub-only review of all four changed files and surrounding subscription, property, and test code, with an independent second pass. No builds or tests were run. The separately documented timed-track opt-out work and integration with #7085 remain outside this fix; reconcile that overlap without applying the fallback to an answer whose properties were requested.

Walkthrough
The subscriber now retains publisher-declared properties in idle copies. A resumed copy requests properties when its retained properties include a timescale. For a draft-20 response that omits requested properties, the subscriber retains the stored properties unless it adopts a held subscription. Copy states carry the full properties, and fill handling and track-status setup read the timescale from them. A draft-22 integration test checks that new_group remains 6 after pause and resume when SUBSCRIBE_OK omits DYNAMIC_GROUPS. The related quest entry and plan were removed.

CodeRabbit finding (thread): asked to keep a non-empty properties block from an opted-out answer. Refuted in this reply and resolved. A resumed copy keeps its own track::Info, and the active subscription reads DYNAMIC_GROUPS from that info. Holding the answer's block would let the paused and active views of the same copy disagree.

Both fixes are committed on their PR branches, with base merged into each. `quest check` passes, and Rust formatting passes. Further tests are blocked locally: the Rust test needs an uncached Git dependency, and the inventory tests need PyYAML. Problem
On draft 22, a lingering copy's resumed SUBSCRIBE sends INCLUDE_PROPERTIES
0, so its SUBSCRIBE_OK has an empty properties block. The subscriber kept that empty block asheld_properties, which is what a pause holds. Once that subscription paused as a TRACKS listing's entry (through PUBLISH_SKIPPED), the REQUEST_UPDATE resuming it filtered out NEW_GROUP_REQUEST (held.properties.dynamic_groupswasfalse), even though the track declared DYNAMIC_GROUPS.The active subscription's own updates were never affected: they read DYNAMIC_GROUPS from the copy's
track::Info, which the first answer set.Approach
In
rs/moq-net/src/ietf/subscriber.rs:Idlekeeps the fullietf::Propertiesits first answer declared, instead of onlytimescale.!properties_wantedon draft 22, with no held subscription), the copy's properties replace the answer's. They feed the track info, the timescale, and what a pause holds. This replaces the old timescale-only fallback, so there is one rule instead of two.properties_wantedis lifted into a local, so the accept path can tell whether the answer opted out.Impact
Choices made without asking
properties_wantedfor a resume becomesidle.properties.timescale.is_some(). An answer the copy asked for is used as is, and only an opted-out one falls back to the copy's properties. This matches fix(net): honor the Track Properties opt-out on IETF SUBSCRIBE #7085's "no fallback when asked" rule.Tests
ietf::subscriber::tracks::tests::a_paused_resume_that_opted_out_keeps_dynamic_groups(draft 22). A copy learns DYNAMIC_GROUPS, and a join asks for group 6. The copy lingers, then resumes with an opted-out SUBSCRIBE and gets an empty answer. A PUBLISH_SKIPPED makes it the listing entry, so it pauses.
