What changes
release: follow-ups for code health, CI, setup and the docs site #373, commit check:--warn is gone from commit-message.yml and scripts/commit-message.mjs, so a bad commit message now fails the job with an error annotation. The commit guide, the commit skill and development.md say so.
A Refetch button in the panel, and a new refetch-transfer-state agent tool. Both need actions.http. The tool is in AGENT_ENTRIES and RPC_INSPECTOR, and the refusal tests cover it.
set-http-rule takes a preset: offline, slow-3g or flaky.
audit lists the lint-http findings, and the snapshot HTTP section ends with a count of them.
http-redact, json-text-redact and analog-redact merge into redaction.ts. The existing tests and the leak corpus pass with only their import paths changed.
The panel shows "N values masked" above an HTTP response preview, the TransferState payload, the NgRx state tree, a form's fields and a component's values.
Agent answers that mask values end with one line saying so.
hub: follow-ups for hub security, the extension and the native overlays #371, picking on a device: a new native-pick.ts lets you pick a component by tapping it on a NativeScript or Angular Native device. NativeScript draws its own native overlay view. Angular Native uses the engine's createElement, measure and a capturing responder. The old border highlight stays as the fallback, and the panel shows Pick component on device.
phase 3 of 4: a shell you live in #342, Firefox build:pnpm extension:build:firefox writes dist/extension-firefox. The manifest has a test, and contributing/chrome-extension.md documents the build.
The tool count is now 114 in tools.md, the CHANGELOG, docs-tool-count.test.ts and agent-metadata-derived.json. The docs pages and the ## 1.0.0 changelog lines are in this PR.
Firefox add-on ID and minimum version: the build uses the ID pangular-inspector@pangular-inspector.dev, minimum Firefox 140, and data_collection_permissions: none. Confirm these before any store listing.
Firefox origin: each Firefox install gets its own moz-extension:// origin. The server only trusts it once that origin is in allowedOrigins. The docs say so.
Picking on a device: the pick and highlight are tested against fakes only. Nobody has run them on a device yet.
Checks
Pass: typecheck, format:check, skills:check, docs:build and commit:check.
Package and panel tests:
test:devtools: 4342 passed with --testTimeout=20000. The machine was heavily loaded, and one or two tests timed out at the default 5 s and then passed alone.
test:panel: 1017 passed.
Count and refusal tests: docs-tool-count, agent-metadata, config and the action-refusal tests pass.
Axe:test:axe passed (223 ok) before the last main merge, and was not run again after it.
The range step ran with --warn, so a commit that broke the format only
left an annotation and the check stayed green. Drop the warn-only mode,
report each problem as an error annotation and fail the job, as decided
in #373.
Refs #373
The router panel kept its own copies of the report types, so a field
added on the server could drift from what the panel read. Move the router
report shapes into a types-only router-types.ts, serve them through the
workspace-only internal/types entry as #475 did for injectors and signals,
and re-export them from the panel's router-types.ts. The contract test
now also checks the router entry, that router-types.ts stays types-only
and that the panel no longer declares copies. The get-routes schema is
tied to the shared ScannedRoute type at compile time.
Refs #368
…s, lint in audit
Three items #473 left partial. Refetch renders the page's URL again on
the server with the tab's cookies, parses the HTML into a detached
document and pushes the masked payload, without reloading the tab. The
panel button and the refetch-transfer-state agent tool both need
actions.http, and the tool is registered in AGENT_ENTRIES with refusal
tests. set-http-rule takes preset (offline, slow-3g, flaky) and expands
it into the same plain rules as the panel's buttons. The audit now lists
lint-http findings (duplicate requests, waterfalls, repeated server
calls) and the snapshot HTTP section ends with a count of them.
Refs #369
http-redact.ts, json-text-redact.ts and analog-redact.ts were three small
modules that called each other and the same shared text masking. Merge
them into redaction.ts, so the masking of recorded calls, JSON text and
Analog page reports lives in one place next to its docs, and point every
caller and test at it. No behaviour changes: the redaction tests and the
leak corpus pass unchanged apart from their import path.
Refs #371
…swers
Masked values showed as [redacted] with no sign of how much was hidden.
Count the masks the redaction helpers write: the panel shows a short line
above an HTTP response preview, the TransferState payload, the NgRx state
tree, a form's fields and a component's values, and an agent answer that
holds masked values ends with one line. Counting scans what is shown for
the mask strings, once per value and with a budget, so it stays cheap and
needs no change to how values are masked or pushed.
Refs #371
…ngular Native
The device overlays had no picker, and their highlight wrote a border or
an outline style onto the app's own view. Add native-pick.ts, which
follows component-pick.ts: a pick catches the next tap over the whole
app, keeps it from the app and answers with the component that hosts the
tapped view, and panel keys move between components. The highlight is a
box in a layer of its own. NativeScript draws it and catches taps with a
UIView or Android View added to the window; Angular Native uses the
engine's createElement, measure and a capturing responder on the root.
The old border and outline stay as the fallback, and the panel now shows
Pick component on device. Tested with fake view trees, UIKit, Android
and engine objects only; none of it ran on a device.
Refs #371
Firefox reads the same extension files but a different manifest. Add
scripts/extension-firefox.mjs and pnpm extension:build:firefox, which
build extension/ui, copy extension/ to dist/extension-firefox and write
a manifest without key and minimum_chrome_version, with the add-on ID,
version floor and data collection declaration under
browser_specific_settings.gecko, and with a background service worker
turned into background scripts. A test checks the manifest. Nothing is
committed or published for Firefox.
Refs #342
Workers Builds: angular-devtools fails on every open PR. The cause is the Cloudflare deploy setup, not this change, and this PR has no fix for it. The checks that gate the merge are the repo's own CI: Nx test and build, typecheck, axe and docs.
Angular Native and NativeScript adapters capture taps and draw highlight overlays. Overlay nodes are excluded from component-tree traversal.
Overlay and panel integration packages/devtools/src/overlay-angular-native.ts, packages/devtools/src/overlay-nativescript.ts, app/src/pages/component-tree.ts, apps/docs/src/content/getting-started/*, apps/docs/src/content/inspectors/components.md
Native overlays register picking and highlighting, update selected component trees, and clean up listeners and highlights. The panel exposes device picking.
The panel and agent tool request a page-side fetch, parse returned HTML without reloading the tab, sanitize the payload, and store successful results with a refetch timestamp.
set-http-rule accepts the offline, slow-3g, and flaky presets. It rejects incompatible or invalid inputs and additions that exceed the rule limit.
HTTP lint in audit and snapshots packages/devtools/src/rpc/http-lint.ts, packages/devtools/src/rpc/audit-findings.ts, packages/devtools/src/rpc/snapshot-tools.ts, packages/devtools/src/__tests__/audit-findings.test.ts, packages/devtools/src/__tests__/snapshot-tool.test.ts, apps/docs/src/content/inspectors/audit.md
Page-scoped HTTP lint findings feed audit results and snapshot summaries. The additions cover duplicate requests, waterfalls, and repeated server requests.
JSON-text and Analog report redaction helpers move into redaction.ts, which also re-exports count utilities. Existing consumers and tests use the shared module.
Redaction counts in panel and agent output packages/devtools/src/redaction-count.ts, app/src/ui/redaction-count.ts, app/src/pages/*inspector.ts, app/src/pages/store-state-tree.ts, app/src/pages/component-tree.ts, packages/devtools/src/rpc/agent-output.ts, packages/devtools/src/__tests__/redaction-count.test.ts, app/src/__tests__/redaction-count.test.ts
The panel displays masked-value counts for selected data. String agent answers add a count notice when they contain redaction masks; JSON answers do not receive the notice.

Merge Risk: Low · previous review 65c54
The feature set looks sound, with only small defects: a Refetched tag that can disappear, a possible duplicate audit finding on very long URLs, a native highlight box that lingers briefly, and some documentation inaccuracies. None of them break core workflows, so the PR can merge after the small fixes or with a follow-up.

The title "feat: refetch, rule presets, redaction counts, device pick, router types and Firefox build" matches the changeset. The raw summary covers each named feature: TransferState refetching (refetch-transfer-state tool and refetchPayload), HTTP rule presets (offline, slow-3g, flaky), redaction counts (RedactionCount component and countRedacted helpers), device-side tap-to-pick for NativeScript and Angular Native (native-pick.ts and surfaces), shared router types (router-types.ts), and the Firefox build (extension:build:firefox and scripts/extension-firefox.mjs). The title lists many items, so it is long for a single-sentence title, but it is specific and accurate. It omits the commit-message CI change and the HTTP lint findings, which are secondary.

Split the long sentence and use a list for the views.
The first sentence of this paragraph holds several ideas and a long inline list of views. The docs guidelines require "One idea per sentence. Keep sentences short and plain." The sentence "For a very large value it stops after 20,000 strings and keys" is also vague. LanguageTool flags "very". State the limit instead.

Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
Tighten the actions-off test so it proves a refusal.
The test catches every error from tool('set-http-rule', ...) and only checks that no rule was written. The test passes if the tool is absent or if the handler refuses. A failure that skips the config.actions.http guard would still be caught only by the final assertion. That assertion is sufficient to detect a write. The comment states that the outcome is intentionally either one.
The test does not break behavior. If you want a clearer contract, assert the refusal text or assert that tools does not include pangular:set-http-rule. Then the test fails when the tool's presence changes without notice.

Update the action tool count to twenty-six.
This PR adds refetch-transfer-state as an action tool. The action and destructive tiers now hold 26 tools: 22 in the action row and 4 in the destructive row of the tier table. apps/docs/src/content/agents/mcp-server.md already says twenty-six. This alert still says "twenty-five", so the two pages disagree.

The refetchedAt marker is lost when the page sends its payload again.
The result handler stamps refetchedAt only on the copy held in httpPayloads. The push-http handler later replaces that copy with nameServerFns(sanitizePayload(page.payload)). sanitizePayload returns only found, size, entries and error, so it drops refetchedAt.
The page sends a full payload again when ping-http answers known: false or the server answers needPayload. This happens, for example, after the server expires the page. The panel then shows the refetched content without the Refetched tag. The docs say the tag stays "until the tab reloads".
Keep the marker on the page side so every full push carries it:

Verify that the fetched-twice dedupe key matches the transfer-cache finding key.
The refetch branch builds key from about(finding.callIds[1]). The about helper returns ${call.method} ${redactUrl(endpoint(call.url))}. The make helper later builds its key from subject(extra.subject). This helper collapses whitespace, runs redactText and clips to MAX_SUBJECT.
The dedupe compares the un-normalized about string with keys that make produced from the normalized subject. If redactText or clip changes the string, the keys differ. The audit then reports a second fetched-twice finding for the same call.
The transfer-cache check in http() uses a different target path. It does not call subject. Both keys go through make, so they normalize the same way. The new key here skips that step.
Compute the key from the same normalized subject. For example, build the finding first and compare finding.key.

…d the redaction counts list
tools.md still said twenty-five action and destructive tools after refetch-transfer-state was added. The Firefox build page showed data_collection_permissions as a plain array, while the script writes { required: ["none"] }. The redaction counts paragraph is split into a list with the exact 20,000 item limit.
Only the server's copy carried refetchedAt, and sanitizePayload dropped it, so a full push after the server lost the page removed the Refetched tag. The page now stamps refetchedAt on the refetched payload, and sanitizePayload keeps a numeric value.

Only JSON behind the forms UNTRUSTED notice was recognized, so a plugin or resource answer with its own notice and a JSON body got the redaction line appended and stopped parsing. Leading notice paragraphs now come off before the JSON check.
The lint's fetched-twice finding was checked against the cache check's finding with an unnormalized key, so a long URL that make() clips counted the same call twice. The finding is now built through make() first and compared by its key.
An empty highlight request cleared only the border fallback, so the native box stayed until its timer ended after the pointer left a row. The handler now clears the box first, as the Angular Native one already did.

Bring in #491 and #490. Main's devframe.ts changes go to the split
modules: the TransferState refetch to devframe-refetch-tools.ts and the
set-http-rule preset to devframe-http-tools.ts. The tool count is 118.
extension/ui is rebuilt in a later commit.
network-inspector.ts, store-inspector.ts, config.ts and devframe.ts grew with the main merge; the refetch tools went to their own module, so devframe.ts keeps only the call.
