README: English-first facade (README.md en + README.zh-CN.md zh)

What

English-first facade for the repo front page:

• README.md is now the English version. The existing README.en.md content was promoted verbatim (it was already a faithful full mirror of the Chinese page; no re-translation, no rewrite).
• The previous Chinese front page moved verbatim to README.zh-CN.md.
• Both files now start with a first-line language switcher linking to each other.
• The stale README.en.md / README.md cross-links on each facts line were dropped (the files they pointed at no longer exist in the new layout).

Zero information loss (acceptance 1)

• Heading sections: 8 zh ↔ 8 en, 1:1 by position — title, Who leads now, Same score different shape, How it works, Result repos, FAQ, Spec and docs, License.
• Score tokens match on both sides: 15'/24, 16'/24, 17'/24, 18'/24, 19'/24, 24 案/24 cases, × 13.
• Byte-parity vs the pre-change sources: the ONLY changes on each side are (a) switcher line + blank line inserted at top, (b) stale cross-link removed from the facts line. Everything else is byte-identical.
• Bilingual parity checker (bilingual-parity-check.py, README pair): URLs / images / fractions / versions / dates / hashes all OK; the only link diffs are the by-design per-language mappings (.en.md result pages, /en/ site page, per-language PNGs) and the two front-page switchers.

English quality (acceptance 2)

The English text is the previously published README.en.md (human-level, in use on main since before this change), not machine translation. Banned-word / AI-slop scan: 0 hits (delve, tapestry, testament, leverage, robust, seamless, furthermore, plain-language labels, etc.).

Known follow-ups, intentionally NOT in this PR (docs/ is out of scope here)

After README.en.md is deleted, five docs/*.en.md files carry a header link ../README.en.md that will 404, and one line in docs/corrections-2026-09-18.en.md mentions the old pair. Per language-structure convention the twins under docs/ keep the .en.md suffix; only the front page flips. Suggested follow-up: repoint those six links (../README.md → switcher works too) in a separate docs-wide pass.

docs/, results/, figures, data files, git history, all numbers and their wording.

Flips the repo front page to English with a verbatim Chinese twin. The diff is byte-clean and CI-green, but README.en.md was not actually removed, leaving a stale duplicate with a wrong language link.

• Chinese twins docs/{README,axes,findings-effort-and-speed,leaderboard-notes,manifest-schema}.md:3 link 首页 to ../README.md, now the English page; repoint to ../README.zh-CN.md.
• CONTRIBUTING.md:46 says README.md is Chinese with an English pointer and to keep it that way; this PR inverts it, so update that Style bullet here.
