Bug

CommitQuickAdd() cleared NewTaskBox before checking backend readiness and before async parsing/persistence finished. A disconnected backend, parse error, or save error discarded the user's unsent task content.

Fix

  • Reject blank/whitespace-only or disconnected submissions without clearing the draft.
  • Capture submitted text through the async parse and save callbacks.
  • Restore that draft on parse/save failure only if the field is still empty: never overwrite a newer draft that the user started typing while the RPC was pending.
  • Keep current successful-submit behavior and error reporting unchanged.

Verification before merging

  • Windows host CI builds
  • With backend disconnected, Enter does not clear input
  • Parse/save RPC failure restores submitted text and shows error
  • If user has begun typing a new draft, failed old submission never overwrites it
  • Successful quick add still clears the input and creates one task
  • macOS/Linux unaffected; validate shared cross-platform behavior contract

Independent small fix; no merging or release until all pending work is tested.
